Apple Country

In October, Brian and I took the kids out to Grandma Judy's for the weekend to go apple picking. We spent Friday night there, which everyone loved! Grandma was in heaven having the kids there, the kids were in heaven playing with Grandma and momma was in heaven getting to sleep in while everyone else entertained the kids!

After I finally got up, we headed off to Oak Glen. Turns out everyone else had the same idea that weekend and the only place we could get into was Los Rios Rancho. They have a great selection of apples to buy and because of the heat and the crowds, we decided to just do that, rather than pick our own. Still we had a great time!

We had just bought a new stroller and this was our first outing with it. Unfortunately, we weren't too used to using it yet. After I put Austin in the stroller, I went over to get McKenna. I turned around and didn't see Austin. I thought maybe Brian had rolled the stroller to the other side of the car, but just then I heard a lady call out "Is this your stroller?!" I looked down the hill of the parking lot and there was Austin, sitting happily in the stroller! We had forgotten to set the brake. So thankful that the stroller didn't tip over on the way down and that a car didn't come by at the wrong time! So scary! You can be sure we use the brake now!

You can see the stroller tracks going all the way down to the black truck!

McKenna liked her new seat in the stroller though.

Austin and I took a horse drawn wagon ride. He was really really excited...until he learned that he didn't get actually ride the horses! These horses!

So that's why he looks a little cranky in this picture. Plus is was really warm that day!

The wagon ride took us around the ranch. It's beautiful there!

And we went through the orchards. According to the guide, this type of apple was the kind that Walt Disney modeled the apple in Snow White after.

While I took McKenna for a lunch break, Daddy & Grandma took Austin to "Go Goat", ie the petting zoo!

After buying some yummy apples, we went back to Grandma's for some hanging out and some nappy time.

You can tell Austin knows how to make himself at home!

Thanks for a fun weekend, Grandma!
